Spirit Of The Experience (25-5-2013)

Spirit of The Experience came together in June 2006. It was formed by Malcolm Crossley together with Ziggy Redding and Spencer Mitchell.

The idea came about from a mutual respect for Jimi Hendrix and the whole 60's era.

"We are now recreating the sights and sounds of Jimi Hendrix using authentic Fender guitars and Marshall amplification.

Malcolm uses a guitar neck which was used by Jimi from 1967 to 1969.It was originally attached to a guitar smashed at a concert in 1969.The body was broken but, the neck survived and was rescued by his roadie, John Downing. After leaving Jimi Hendrix following the Woodstock festival in 1969, John eventually became roadie for Saxon and let Graham Oliver, a fellow Hendrix fan, have the neck. Malcolm acquired the neck in March 2007 after it had been fitted to an exact replica Strat guitar body.

Malcolm also uses a limited edition Jimi Hendrix Marshall stack which gives the whole set up an authentic Hendrix tone.
